The Greene County Ram wrestling team won a Heart of Iowa dual meet in Nevada Tuesday by a 48-21 score. The meet was postponed from Jan. 16 due to weather.
Dylan Forkner (126), Jordan Challen (132), Tommy Bradshaw (138) and Jeremy Scheuermann (152) all won by fall, with Scheuermann’s fall coming in only 47 seconds. Freshman Daric Whipple wrestled his first match of the season, having been matside due to knee surgery in November. He won by a 4-0 decision at the 160 weight class. Abe Yoder (145) also won by decision.
The Rams forfeited in the 106 and 113 weight classes; the team has not had a competitor in those classes all season. The Rams also forfeited the 182 weight class. There was no match at 220, as neither team had a wrestler. The forfeits evened out, though, as the Cubs forfeited the 120, 195 and 285 weight classes.
The Rams are now 3-3 in the HOIAC and 8-10 overall. The Nevada Cubs are now 3-2 in the HOIAC.
